about
This song was written one day after Blake experienced an amazing 5-day intensive training in the practice of Mindful Self-compassion, led by Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer. This training took place at the Sedona Mago Center for Well-Being and Retreat in Sedona, AZ. In Korean, the word Mago means unconditional love and spirit of Mother Earth.
lyrics
You get the red rocks
I’ll get the sunshine
On our way
Silence in spaces
Smiling at faces
Starts our day
Mago
Massaging the Earth with every step
Mago
Increasing compassion with every breath
When you resist, distract, and dismiss
You suffer more
Comfort your pain, anchor and name
And please explore
Mago
Massaging the Earth with every step
Mago
Increasing compassion with every breath
What do you need right now?
What can you feel right now?
Savor this moment
With your hand on your heart
Close your eyes and we’ll all be here If you fall apart
May you accept yourself just as you are
May you accept yourself just as you are
May you feel loved and safe, belonging and grace
Just as you are
You’re deserving and strong, you fiercely belong
Just as you are
